This June, Nigerian Law School students (Class of 2024/25 – Regular Set) are invited to lend their voice to a powerful civic movement that goes beyond competition—TRUTH SPEAKS.
✨ What is Truth Speaks?
Truth Speaks is a spoken word competition that dares law students to creatively explore SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions – as it relates to:
- The Nigerian legal system
- Institutional reform
- Access to justice
Powered by PROJECT BAR, an initiative of Akinboro & Co, and brought to life by Citizens Initiatives for Rights and Empowerment (CITIZINRE) in collaboration with the Nigerian Law School SRC, this platform amplifies the voices of tomorrow’s legal advocates.
🎯 The Mission
This is more than a talent showcase. It’s a civic advocacy movement designed to:
- Educate minds
- Amplify unheard voices
- Preserve cultural heritage
- Spark national conversations around justice
Whether your truth is best expressed in English, Yoruba, Igbo, or Hausa, this is your moment to speak creatively, loudly, and fearlessly.

Winners will walk away with:
- 🥇 ₦500,000
- 🥈 ₦300,000
- 🥉 ₦200,000
+ Wig & Gown and a professional Call to Bar Photoshoot
Also, up to 20 finalists will receive consolation prizes, including a wig & gown + photoshoot.
